I decided to call my counselling practice 'Alba Counselling and Psychotherapy' for a few reasons...
Alba was my mother's name and has always been a name that I love.
My own name, Cinzia, can be a little difficult for people to pronounce sometimes until they know it (Chin- see- ah...think 'CH' like ciao). It's an Italian name but I am British born.
Alba also means 'dawn' or 'sunrise' in Italian and I love the way that this translates into counselling...signifying that even after the darkest of times, counselling can bring light back into your life and a sense of possibility even when things have felt really tough.
So...Alba Counselling and Psychotherapy: What's in a Name? For me, a lot of meaning.

Cinzia Procter MBACP NCPS is an integrative counsellor psychotherapist and owner-founder of Alba Counselling & Psychotherapy. Based in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, she works with adults over 18 and couples experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions and other emotional difficulties. Cinzia offers both face-to-face counselling in Leeds and online sessions across the UK.
